Hi all, is me again. Today I going to discuss about the 2010 HW Premiere GHOSTBUSTERS ECTO-1. First at all, not to mention how much passion we got into ghostbusters, I still can recall the theme song in my head. You can enjoy the theme song as below:

Well, rumor said it’s going to have a GHOSTBUSTERS III movie on show by year 2011. Perhaps this is the reason why all the sudden Mattel release a ghostbusters car in the mainline. Get back to the discussion of this topic, Why does this casting so rare and so hard to get? Based on my humble opinion and analysis, I can come with a few theories:
- It’s Ghostbuster, how could any people in our age resisted it? Anybody who watch it before will definitely buy this casting, whether he/she is a hotwheels collector or not.
- Mattel seldom use movie to promote Hotwheels casting, by only this reason already make it special among other mainline cars. Besides this, by using the movie title may already cost Mattel some registration and licensing fees, yet we collector can get it with the same price for other mainline cars.
- It’s a big car, and a Ghostbusters logo in the tampo. Although it’s not very heavy due to non-metal bases, but this casting come with the accessory on top of the car to make it more special, and to mimic the real Ghostbuster Ecto-1.
- It’s hardly to be released again. I expect not to see this casting in the future, neither in the mainline nor limited casting. Because it may cost Mattel extra in production for just making this one, either in licensing or raw material.
- There is only 1 piece of this from a case with 72 Hotwheels mainline cars. And it’s camara treasure hunt wave. So, it’s as rare as a treasure hunt series.
These are the reasons I can come with in the moment, of course things can happen in the way I don’t expect it. However, for what I can see now, it’s a super duper hot casting and it won’t stay on rack in a store for long. As soon as anyone spotted it, it will gone with them to home. Currently it’s coming along with Camaro treasure hunt wave, and each case will contain 1 piece of Ghostbusters Ecto-1. But my friend solid snake heard the rumor from US in the coming wave will have 3 pieces of this in a case.. So here I opened this topic and hope to hear any reader to give comment to discuss about this.
